5.0 out of 5 stars Very clear with lots of versatile designs, 11 Dec 2004
I was cautiously optimistic when I bought this book based on the other review, but I'm delighted with it. It has some quite ingenious designs which are very versatile. Whilst assembling pop-ups can be tricky, that's just their nature; I haven't found any of the instructions unclear or confusing at all. The design principles for a lot of different pop-up elements are exposed and you are then shown how you can combine them to create really impressive cards. This is both a great introduction and a great reference for any pop-up enthusiast.

3.0 out of 5 stars All the pop you need., 9 April 2004
The pop-up manual is a great book. If you are one of the people who have made a card pop-up, saying 'Happy Birthday' then this is a clever book full of ideas to broaden your skills.
Be warned, the language it uses for making the desired pop-ups is incredibly difficult to make sense of by using letters to fit everything together one wrong A fitted will ruin a perfect design. It is due to the clear and ingenious images that help and aid you in making your designs come to life that help making the pop-ups easier. The images are clear and easier to understand than the written instructions.
If you are a GCSE graphics student then this is an ideal book for you to use for those quirky designs.
With a bit of time most people will get a pop-up made to make those greetintgs cards even more surprising, but it needs patience and lots of glue.

4.0 out of 5 stars great examples, 14 April 2005
Excelent reference book. I was really searching for some good pop-up examples and explanations and this one was definitely a good choice. Learn the techiniques, have some creativity and you'll have original pop-ups.
