It's taken me almost thirty years of hard searching to find an irish crime writer who writes as well as the Americans. And Ken Bruen does. His style is lean and clean and his subject matter mean in the extreme. I went straight from the McDead to read the other two books in his 'White Arrest' trilogy and loved every one. This guy is up there with Pelecanos and Ellroy. Really.
