2.0 out of 5 stars Not a captive read, 17 Feb 2008
This book harks back to the 'hard boiled' detective stories of yesteryear - think Raymond Chandler et al.

If you are into that type of story, then this will be a book that you can enjoy - although it is too short to sink your teeth into. If you are not, then it will be a tedious read.

The story revolves around two American policemen, Griff and Fats trying to locate a missing woman only to be drawn into the search for a pyschopathic killer with a penchant for using a straight blade razor to kill his victims.

Griff and Fats, long on the beat, short on patience are two well written characters but the problem is that the story is too formulic to read your hold attention.

If you like the characters, two 'bonus' short stories are also included.
