The rides in this collection will allow the rider to travel the gently rolling Northamptonshire landscape along paths, byways and quiet country lanes. This lowland county lies on the great watershed of Middle England, the old Norman hunting ground and seat of many historic houses. These guides have been produced in response to popular demand for information about open and accessible routes for riding. They describe both long and short rides in each region and provide a detailed map route for each, together with an approximate time and mileage. The landscape, flora and fauna are explained, and historic sites and buildings indicated. There is advice on fitness, equipment and safety, as well as a wealth of local information.
