This beautifully illustrated and wellorganised book shows the reader step by step, how to trim their sails and rig for maximum performance.  Ivar Dedekams revolutionary approach to sail and rig tuning tackles the practical and realistic elements of tuning your boat as well as the theory of sail aerodynamics.  The book covers the many variations in boat, sail and rig design.

From the Author
The making of a different book on sailing
Hello readers I have been sailing in Norway and the Atlantic for many years and have always wanted to learn more of how to tune sails and rig better. I read every book on the topic I could come over but I alway felt confused afterwards. There always seemed to be contradictions between the various chapters in a book as there were contradictions between different books -even if they had been written by very famous yachtsmen. I therefore asked question and asked again until I thought I had it right. I then sat down and tried to systematize the informations I received making illustrations rather than using confusing photos.

In this book I have tried to distil those rules of thumb and theories commonly agreed upon among the sailing community. What makes this book different from the most other books on the topic, is the short, concentrated text with adjacent corresponding illustrations. 80 pages with more than 150 colour illustrations hopefully giving an interesting, systematic and easily accessible introduction to the art of trimming sails and rig. The aim is to make it easy to find, understand and last but not least remember the information that the reader is seeking.
