These cards should be carried on board. They contain all the weather information people find hard to remember such as Sea Areas, Coastal Stations, times of broadcasts, cloud systems, how to predict the weather around lows and highs, and the terms used in broadcasts.  Add a chinagraph pencil and you can fill in details and make predictions.

The Weather Companion can also be used as a revision aid for the various RYA courses, which it covers.



About the Author

Tim Bartlett was formerly Technical Editor of Motorboat & Yachting magazine. He is a Yachtmaster Instructor and a member of the Royal Institute of Navigation. He currently cruises and races a Sonata.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent pocket companion - used it for my YM Exam, 27 Mar 2006
Contains a good overview of the weather in a pocket sized format. Beaufort scale, wave heights, pressure gradient & weather forecast terms are also defined clearly.

Ideal as a flash-card like helper when doing sailing exams.

I also got the ColRegs version which is equally effective.

Recommended.
