5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking Photographs, 8 Feb 2009
By Malcolm Alford (Croydon England) - See all my reviews
The photographs in this book are superb and make you wonder how some of them were taken in such precarious situations. The Book is mostly pictorial interspersed with brief narratives of some of his spectacular climbs.
A very easy descriptive, informative style of writing without being technical. What a wonderful man he is to have achieved so much. The first Englishman to summit Everest and what about his 2 mile crawl following breaking both legs on the Ogre. The book will take you out of yourself and away on high!

5.0 out of 5 stars Doug Scott - Himalayan Climber, 18 Nov 2009
The title, like the book itself, is understated and very matter of fact, but this only serves to highlight the extraordinary achievements of Doug Scott. As one of the world's leading climbers in the 70's and 80's, Doug Scott has climber the highest peaks in seven continents and was the first Briton to climb Everest. The book is full of fantastic photographs and tales of heroism. Highly recommeded, even to non-climbers.
