This title tells the story of the railways of one particular county in Northern Ireland, the Sligo Leitrim and Northern Counties Railway and the narrow gauge Clogher Valley Railway, and includes coverage of the buses operated by the SLNCR and the local Erne Bus Company. The book begins with some personal memories from the two authors, followed by an outline of the railway history of the county, and concluding with a collection of nostalgic photographs.
About the Author
Charles P Friel is a well known writer on Irish railway subjects, having already written two titles in the Colourpoint Transport series - Merlin and Slieve Gullion. He is a native of Co Fermanagh and has a wide knowledge of the railways of the county. His co-author, Norman Johnston, also has first hand memories of Fermanagh's railways. He is author of 'The Fintona Horse Tram', 'Douglas Horse Trams', 'The Great Northern Railway in County Tyrone' and 'Locomotives of the GNRI'.
