About the Author
Laura Buchanan trained as an occupational therapist, subsequently specialising in mental health and psychiatry. She later trained as a person-centred therapist at the University of Strathclyde, specialising in women's issues. Recently Laura has worked overseas in Bangladesh as a lecturer in occupational therapy and as a counsellor, and currently lives in Amsterdam where she is continuing her studies in education in the health professions. After Person-Centred training from the University of Strathclyde, Rick Hughes gained experience as a counselling practitioner in primary care, education and privately in the workplace. Since then he has completed and MPhil researching the impact of emotions at work. He is on the Executive for the Association for Counselling at Work (a division of BACP) and has become the editor of Counselling at Work journal. He also sits on the Development Committee of the Association for Coaching. Whilst Rick currently works for a major Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provider in clinical case management, his Honorary Research Fellowship from the University of Strathclyde allows him to engage in further research activities and ad hoc consultancy assignments.
