Product Description
Synopsis
Book and CD. A reference book which explores the origins and evolution of The Beatles' contributions to other artists' music, along with a brief biographical sketch of each of these artists. In short, this book is about The Beatles' admiration for and generous support of their friends and fellow musicians. For those of you who thought the music of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr was confined to The Beatles and their solo recordings, you are in for a very big and pleasant surprise. The CD contains 3 previously unreleased recordings only available with this book.

(REAL NAME)
Credit to the man for the exhaustive research done for this book, Kris has not only compiled an enormous heap of data into a manageable form but he's also turned out a very entertaining read. One point to strke me while reading this book is that all four Beatles gave unsparingly of themselves to so many people. For instance, Carl Perkins turns up at a McCartney gig with a camera crew in tow. Paul 'goes with the flow' and allows himself to be filmed jamming with the rockabilly king. Quotes from the famous and the obscure reinforce the view that The Beatles can't have had time to sleep between making their own records and helping out on other sessions. Those boys crammed a lot into a very short space of time and Kris seems to have got the low-down on it all.
