Product Description

Synopsis
XML Programming Using the Microsoft XML Parser is designed for programmers who are getting started with XML programming using Microsoft XML technologies. Soo Mee Foo and Wei Meng Lee are both trainers and developers in the areas of Web and XML development. As such, they are well positioned to teach beginning XML developers on getting started with XML programming. While most books on XML tend to focus more on the theoretical aspects of XML, all the chapters in this book begin with an introduction to the technology followed by numerous codes examples to illustrate the use of the technologies. XML Programming Using the Microsoft XML Parser will lay the foundation required for more in-depth XML programming. The core XML technologies covered are XSLT, XPATH, SAX, DOM, WML, XML Schema, and SOAP.

5.0 out of 5 stars Demystifying XML, 22 Feb 2003
The hardest part of XML is realising how simple this important technology actually is. When you finish this book you'll probably be wondering what all the fuss was about.

The book sticks to the type of mechanics you need to use XML in your programming projects, without wasting much time with abstract theoretical concepts and discussions. It is a readable book that explains the basics that seem to forgotten or hidden in other books on XML.

If you are a programmer and need to start using XML within your software, then this book is what I would recommend. If you are a non Microsoft Windows developer, I think there is still a lot for you here, but the examples are mainly Windows based.
