5.0 out of 5 stars What a polava, 13 Feb 2002
By A Customer
For those whose memory is a little cloudy, 98 was the year the tour started in Ireland. You may remember the Tour of 98 as the year of the Festina doping scandal. I certainly do. And what a fascinating year it was. It is all beautifully chronicled in Samuel Abt's book accompanied by great, action packed photos by the amazing James Startt. Bicycle racing historians can't afford to be without a copy of this thrilling book packed as it is with page after page of the blow by blow account of what became known as 'The Tortured TourE

As per usual Abt's coverage is insightful and comprehensive concentrating on the hard facts of the racing which we all love but balancing them with the scandal that rocked the sports world with the daily revelations of tabloid proportions. I genuinely welcomed this opportunity to look back at on of the most exciting sporting events of last century, even if partly for the wrong reasons.
