We bought this book for the sole use of singing in the car. It works out very nicely. The kids sit in the back and read the well laid out text of the songs in Hirigana and sing along. The songs mostly come from traditional japanese songs which children learn at school, so some of the japanese is a little strange at first. Would like to edit out the english text as the hirigana text is so much better for the kids to practice with. We also bought book II, which is of the same style.
