Book Description
This textbook offers an introduction to 3D computer modeling and Pro/ENGINEER. The in
tent of this textbook is to help students become comfortable working in 3D. Although there are nume
rous step-by-step examples to illustrate modeling concepts and techniques, this is not a push-button
manual.
The textbook begins with 3D modeling basics including 3D modeling methods and model definitions, coo
rdinate systems, and view types and specifications. It then proceeds with the creation of 3D compone
nts, the documentation of those components for production, and the combining of components into asse
mblies. End-of-chapter exercises vary in difficulty from easy to challenging. The exercises provide
a chance to review basic concepts as well as increase understanding and modeling skills by applying
those concepts and techniques to the creation of some realistic models.
