This book really goes through the (so-called) pain of the author who, in my opinion, and reading between the lines, is still hurting but has now made a commitment to his "NEW?" life. Not a good book for any Gay person who has to fight in their lives to find their place in the world. Avoid this if your gay and don't expand the author's pocket. It's his life, not yours.

This is a good introduction to the causes of homosexuality. If you have managed to ignore the media lies about the issue and have dared to read an opposing view to the predominent misconceptions, you will not be dissapointed. I, as an individual who has always been uncomfortable with my same sex attractions (not because society made me feel uncomfortable, but because I genuinely fealt incomplete) have found this book extremely helpful in guiding me in the right direction to recovery. Although Richard Cohen may some times come across as over optimistic as to the straight forward accessibility to change, he definitely makes the reader more aware of the procedures involved in taking back ones life. for sufferer and concerned friends alike, i highly reccomend giving this book a chance.

This book is an excellent resource for anyone who has unwanted same sex attractions and is considering the possibility of changing. I found Cohen's analysis very convincing and true to my experience: he also offers a great therapeutic process which anyone can follow to find the way out of homosexuality. The course is clearly outlined, starting with cognitive therapy, affirmations, inner child work and art therapy, it proceeds to offer a clear direction for anyone desiring to transition from homosexuality. I discovered this book a few years ago and have found it very beneficial for my own life; I no longer label myself as gay and have found the way forward to an authentic masculinity. I highly recommend this book.
