1.0 out of 5 stars Not enough real research, 12 Feb 1999
By A Customer
Considering the length of this book's bibliography I had supposed that it would offer some real insight into the moon and its effects. What I got was a lot of superstition, personal conjecture and rehashed mistakes. The assumption that thousands of years ago humans did not pay attention to the wandering bright stars we now know as planets is just one of the many misguided statements. Instead of reading and quoting real anthropological or historical studies about the moon the author relies on supposition and non-scholarly sources to create this book.

If the author had declared her intent to write about her own supposition, experience and conjecture and then had really done so it would have been a much better book than this mismash attempt.

The writing itself is disjointed and awkward. I would recommend giving this a miss, unless you really need to fill out your book shelves, or are rabidly collecting calendar, moon or astrological information.

4.0 out of 5 stars An interesting read..., 4 April 2006
I found ute yorks living by the moon an intriguing read, for i do believe that the moons cycles really do affect us. I cant say I was particularly impressed by the segment of moon magik but I found using the chart inside to work out my "moon sign" a very interesting and amusing read, it worked out that my moon sign was gemini (Im a Leo) but fascinatingly enough I could actually connect with all the things written in it.

If nothing else the book is worth reading for the way it is written, if you have a sense of humour and enjoy esoterical books try it!
