Product Description

Product Description

LotusScript has opened up many new opportunities for Lotus Notes users to build powerful, successful applications-but only if they understand the details of the language. Practical LotusScript goes beyond the basics provided by other manuals to supply details on power programming with LotusScript in the Notes environment. Detailed coverage of such topics as looping, variables, strings, functions, subroutines, arrays, lists, objects, methods, and properties is provided. All aspects of working with files, handling errors, embedded objects, and searching are explained. Advanced topics that are covered include report generation, working with the Web, Office97 integration, and 5.0 enhancements.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent All-Round Coverage of LS, 8 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Basically, on-line info sources and picking up LotusScript from colleagues is often difficult, hit-and-miss, and takes a lot longer than just having this book sitting on your desk. It's easy to dip into for bits and pieces of information and as an experienced Notes/Domino developer this is one of only two Notes books that i've come across that I would consider to be of any real use.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you need to know LotusScript, you need this book., 15 Mar 2001

Simple, buy this book. If you need to know about LotusScript for Notes 4.x to 5 you need this book. It's so clear and easy to read that if they wrote manuals this way we would probably be out of a job. All code is complete and is followed by a very understandable line-by-line explanation. You really have to be a complete nonce to not be able to follow it.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book for beginners, 19 Dec 2000
By A Customer
This book is fantastic for newbies to Lotus Script. The author takes you through the various classes step by step, with very clear examples of how to use them. There are very few typos. It covers most of the things that you would need as a beginner, and also covers many of the new classes that have shipped with Notes 5. On the whole a must for anyone who wants to learn Lotus Script, and indeed can be a good reference for the experienced.
