5.0 out of 5 stars On the edge flying, 22 Nov 2000
By A Customer
A really excellent read. As a pilot, I really enjoyed reading about his various flying adventures and marvelled at his lucky escapes. Combat and test flying are something that I will never do (too old!), but John Moore put me right in the cockpit with him, tremendous! He has an easy style and is an excellent raconteur. If you like flying you will love this book. I recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A "right" kind of guy who was in all the wrong places., 12 Feb 1998
By A Customer
Even on the "edge of disaster" Cdr. John Moore never lost his sense of humor.
Especially when he had to jump over the side of the U.S.S. Essex, 60 feet to the water.
His exploits as a North American Aviation Test Pilot is accurate and exciting during the "fifties" when more new aircraft came on the scene than any time in our history.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you like aviation-books you get something very special, 22 Oct 1997
By A Customer
A navy pilot, later on a test pilot tells funny stories (but not only) out of his life. After reading that book, you would love to meet that guy, who gives you very interesting insights in his former job and brings you to laugh with his special kind of humor. A must!
