A profoundly disappointing experience, this beautifully produced and lavishly illustrated book reveals only a pale and sanitized glimmer of things Provencal, an up-market, technically perfect , bowdlerized ,utterly soulless real estate developers' parody of a style which in reality possesses a wealth of warmth, guts and character.
It would have been more accurately described in the blurb as a book of fanciful faux french house plans for wealthy Californians, ...I certainly felt that this book had been woefully misdescribed
