5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for Anyone, Parents in particular, choosing a Martial Arts Club & Style., 10 Jan 2008

I can't believe that there aren't any reviews here yet!

This fairly large book is an essential guide on how to decide upon choosing which Martial Art you (or your child) should learn, which style is best with a view to self-defence & how to chose a club & size up the instructor & all the various pitfalls & ruse's you can avoid. (Especially when it comes to all the different often "hidden" fees that some clubs & associations charge.

It also explains the physical & mental benefits that can be derived from practicing a decent Martial Art both for juniors & senior students.

Most well run martial arts clubs who instil discipline in their students
find that juniors learn to be more respectful. The interaction with their senior peers increases their confidence as well.

All this & more is brought out in this well researched book & is worth it's weight in gold considering the amount of money you could waste should you choose the wrong club & don't find out until it's too late a couple of years down the line after probably spending hundreds of hard earned pounds.

At the time of writing, I notice that there are a lot of very cheaply priced "New & Used" copies available - it could be one of the best investments you ever made!
