What I've done in The Beauty Bible is separate fact from fiction in the cosmetics world, deciphering the claims versus what is really possible, so you can make the best decisions possible about skin, hair, makeup, and body care. Now more than ever, what you don't know about cosmetics can hurt your skin and waste your money! The cosmetics industry is complicated. I wish it wasn't, but it is. Not only are there over 600 cosmetics lines to choose among there are thousands and thousands of miracle creams, lotions, and gels for every imaginable concern from blemishes to wrinkles, cellulite, sagging breasts, pigment problems and on and on. Do they all work? Are any of us blemish or wrinkle-free because of the products we use? Do celebrities and models have the latest and greatest information? And what about all the cosmetic and skin-care research the consumer never sees? Hopefully, what you’ll discover after reading my book is everything the cosmetics industry doesn’t want you to know, but is essential to make the best decisions possible for your skin care and makeup routines.

I was especially impressed with all the time Paula Begoun spends on adult acne-proned skin. I am forty years old with acne-proned skin, and I have tried every skin-care line out there, and spent hundreds of dollars, and nothing worked. Paula's book intellingently explains what causes acne, and the best products to use to treat it. It turns out the best products DON'T cost a small fortune, they're just simple (sometimes surprising!) products you can buy at any drugstore, NOT expensive department stores. The result has been a dramatic improvement in my skin. My acne has cleared up, and the overall texture of my skin is beautiful. The only drawback to the book is it can get a bit complicated & disjointed. I found I had to go back and read a few sections over a few times, and even took notes as I went along. But I found it to be worth the effort. Paula's done her homework, and has been good enough to pass her knowledge on to the public.

Friends told me to a buy a book called the beauty bible,they actually meant the one by sarah stacey and I bought the one by paula by mistake.However it turned out to be one of the best mistakes I've ever made.It certainly has made my skin look better (and my pocket too). the only disappointing factor was that the subject of hair care was completely ignored.One expects a beauty BIBLE to cover all the aspects of beauty.

I just finished (and LOVED) Paula's other book, Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me, and this book is just as awesome. The Beauty Bible gives you all the basics that you need to know to take good care of your skin and create a natural look with your makeup. Some of her advice is just common sense but Paula's language is fun to read and easy to follow. She gives sensible, understandable answers to all kinds of skin care and makeup questions. I learned more from this book than any other beauty book I've ever purchased.
