(REAL NAME)   
Blackader is clearly a legendary figure in some whitewater kayaking circles. This book tells his story, warts and all. Blackaders huge acheivement, running the Alsek canyon for the first time, stands out as the high point of a good book, but my main memory is of how outdated his style seems. Long boats, bashing down with an "oh I'll just roll up at the end" attitude.

Still, a book that should inspire people to "get out there" even if you do have a slightly odd character.
