5.0 out of 5 stars Feminist Fables, 27 Nov 2003
By Jackie (Loughborough, Leics United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Although it helps to know a bit about the myths, there is plenty in this book to make you think and question the tales we tell children - and those we were brought up on. Where the originals are unfamiliar two readings can be made; your own reaction to the story shown, then a second understanding after some research into the originals.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit puzzling., 1 May 2001
By catherine@durge.org (London, England) - See all my reviews
This short book was okay, but as much as I wanted to enjoy it, unfortunately I didn't get much out of it. The fables were difficult to understand, and many referred to obscure myths and legends that I'd never heard of before. I think you'd have to know a lot about mythology to be able to get something out of this and to understand the meanings the author was trying to put across.
