5.0 out of 5 stars Scintillating Whodunnit, 14 Jul 2002
This is a smart, smoothly written whodunnit. I read his other two novels with the same cop - Ambrose Patterson. This time out he's got a great sidekick called Delroy Johnson and the story is about a celebrity murder case. Its hard to guess who did the crime, but that's not the main fascination. The book explores the phenomenon of fame, as experienced by United Kingdom black celebrities. Kalu is a serious writer, but there are some ultra funny scenes. Yard Dogs is his best novel yet.
