As a reference book this is a must for fans of Wigan Athletic. Every league result, table and player of the club are listed right upto the date of publishing so it is a valuable resource for research or simply to settle a pub argument. I found the match reports to be simply pulled straight from local newspaper articles but what would you expect from the author who isn't actually a fan of the club and simply a football historian. The photographs included in the book would have been nicer in colour in places but I suppose that would have bumped up the cover price but some were poor scans from press cuttings. However a must have for the bookshelf.
