An excellent history of CUFC, written to a premier standard!, 14 Dec 1999

This is a superb book which belies Carlisles' current league standing. It is accurately written but also with a passion for the club rarely seen in other books of its ilk. My only criticism would be of a lack of quality to the pictures, but that aside I would hold this as a benchmark for any club to aspire to in there own textual histories.A must have for ardent fan and footie follower alike.

The best soccer club history put into print!, 28 Nov 1999
By A Customer
As a writer and football journalist I am well suited to receiving 'typical'football club histories, all of which are much of a muchness. The Lads In Blue, however, is different, much different. Its a classic of its type, a masterpiece, very possibly the best football book of ever put into print. The author is a true fan who pours out his heart in the text. An exceptional piece of work, and one of my favourite football books of all time. I'm no lover of Carlisle Utd, but I have a real soft spot for them now i've read this. Pity some of the illustrations weren't to the standard of the text, excellent book.
