5.0 out of 5 stars A must if "Pompey 'Til I Die' is your motto!, 15 Jan 2001
By A Customer
A superb, well-researched publication produced by a lover of the top football team on the South Coast! The book describes the highs and lows of Pompey, summarising each managerial term performance between Ron Tindall and Alan Ball, along with the club's progress in that period. However, the most important part of Colin Farmery's work is the listing of ALL games, whether it be league or cup, covering the scores, the teams and the league position of the Blues from week to week, whether putting Pompey at the heights of the division or in their normal mid-table mediocrity! Only a man with such dedication for his work and the ultimate Portsmouth FC fan could collate and present a book of this type, something that is easy to digest and thoroughly absorbing - may Mr Farmery's publications be widely read by Portsmouth and other football fans alike. A must for all fans of 'The Fratton End', young and old. Play Up Pompey!

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubbish..!, 5 Sep 2003
Having been a Blue Army 'Fratton Ender' for three and a half decades I was mortally disappointed with this book... It is honestly rubbish... Eveything seems to be talked up on the hope that it will sell... I'm not going to suggest you don't buy it but read it with an open mind... Personally I could not relate to it and I find that disconcerting as someone who has follower the Chimes through thick and thin since the late 70's...
