5.0 out of 5 stars Spectrum Guide to Malawi, 30 Jul 2003
By Tim Swinburn (Welwyn Garden City, Herts United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
An exceptional guide to Malawi that goes far beyond the bare details provided in other travel guides. The authors clearly have a wealth of experience about the country and an affinity with the people.
This book provides a fascinating insight into all apsects of Malawi and it people, lavishly illustrated with photographs to bring things to life.
A great source of information before you go and while travelling, a fabulous memento when you return home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spectrum Guide to Malawi, 11 Mar 2003
An extremely comprehensive guide to Malawi. If you are going to Malawi this book is a must to learn more about the country, its history, people, wildlife, places of interest, national parks, cities and towns.

It is well written and laid out with some beautiful photographs

4.0 out of 5 stars Informative and complete, 25 Mar 2009
By Grazia (Perugia, Italy) - See all my reviews
Not a coffee/table book, this guide is an informative and complete tourist guide to Malawi, actually one of the few available on the subject. I bought it when planning a trip to Malawi for a cooperation project. Malawi is not a popular tourist destination due to its extreme poverty and lack of infrastructures. Most of the travelers to Malawi are involved with humanitarian organizations and therefore tourist information on this country is scarce. However, nature is stunning in this beutiful country of the Reef Valley and the guide is expecially valuable since it gives you sound advice on how to manage a visit on your own. Pictures are very realistic.
