Sheringham is unknown in America but he should be. His writing captures in a way few have. This book was a good intro and inspired me to read the books these excerpts were taken from.

Not an awful lot of point in reviewing this really - since if you've already pulled this title from those available you'll know what a master was Sheringham.

That he's not around these days to bring some class (and self deprecation) to angling as it's presented in magazines and TV in this classless age, is to our impoverishment.

My present copy's my second. I wore out the first.

It really is quite good, you know.
