Product Description
Synopsis
This study covers two widely-known groups of Old-World tropical birds. Pittas are a gound-dwelling insectivorous species. Broadbills form a more diverse group - some being highly specialized insectivores, others being fructivores. The range of the 49 species covers South and East Asia, Wallacea, New Guinea, Northern Australia and Africa.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pica Press do it again, 30 Sep 2001
By A Customer
For sheer depth of information in a confined space, the Pica Press and Helm Identification guides are hard to beat, and this edition is no exception. Tackling three little known, but exceptionally colourful groups, the book reveals information previously hidden away in only the mustiest of archives. Coupled with fantastically life-like colour plates, this book is a must for anybody building a serious ornithological library, and highly recommended to anybody simply with a taste for beautiful books.
