Product Description

Product Description

Welcome to the shadowy world of cults... where sophisticated mind-control techniques turn the strongest people into servants of the leader. Thousands of people in Britain are lured each year by their promises of fulfilment, freedom, peace, harmony, truth and a caring community. Sadly the reality is actually emptiness, manipulation, discord, poverty, lies and hatred. Specialists suggest that the activities of these organisations are on the rise in Britain. Cults are targetting recruitment in colleges, universities and large companies. This booklet has been produced so that you can: - understand the difference between cults and legitimate therapies and religions - recognise and protect yourself and others from their influence - help those involved in cults without becoming trapped yourself - to help care for ex-cult members. With the right information and advice, which this booklet gives, you will be able to avoid the growing influence of these powerful organisations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cults a practical guide, 3 Mar 2003
By Bridget Ancel (Great Britian) - See all my reviews
A must have! Short, concise and comprehensive - It's like a First Aid kit for the mind!
I think it's just what the cults have been dreading!
Its appearence and circulation will go such a long way towards helping to cult-proof people.
It needs to be everywhere!
I especially appreciated the Story/Diary and thought it a great way of showing just how easy and subtle the means of recruitment can be.
I am not so sure about the one year recovery time, (although it may well be what research has shown) for my own experience and other former members I know, I would say that the recovery time be at least three years, usually more; in fact I wonder if some people actually totally recover at all! Having said that, If there is a booklet which could change that - this would be the one as anyone who reads it and really understands what s/he reads would be well on the road to psychological freedom.
Sincerely, it is an answer to a prayer - It's just brilliant!

5.0 out of 5 stars What are cults all about?, 21 Feb 2003
By Tim Thornborough (Surrey United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
My biggest surprise when I started investigating cults was to discover that not all cults are relgious! There are many organisations that use 'cult techniques' for grabbing and holding onto people that exist as organisations offering to improve your psychology, your wealth, or even your business performance.

Ian Haworth, who I understand is one of the UKs experts in cults, presents clearly and concisely how cults operate and the real damage they do to people and their families.

I would recommend that every teacher, parent and personnel department buy and read this booklet in order to arm themselves against the insidious influence of these shadowy groups.

An excellent buy and read...

1.0 out of 5 stars A real let down, 13 Oct 2003
By A Customer
I read this with soem expectation but discovered that far from being informative, this book is quite biased to the author's own Christain views. All in all a wasted opportunity which fails to seek out any substance. I can only assume that those who gave this book rave reviews, were in fact friends of the author!
