About the Author
Roy Conyers Nesbit was an RAF navigator in the Second World War. He is the best-selling author of over fifteen books and writes regularly for Aeroplane.

The PRO and Nesbit are to be thanked for at last revealing fresh treasures from the carefully kept official hoard. Here are fresh and fine photos of the familiar and the obscure, at a price within reach. The paintings may not be everyone's taste. And as Jefford and others have observed, the official records are not infallible. Overall: very good.

Roy Conyers Nesbit has chosen well from the Public Records Office to portray the RAF in action during WWII. Nesbit's choice covers all aspects of the RAF on the Home Front, the Middle East, and the Far East, and I would thoroughly recommend this book to anybody interested in the history of the RAF during this period. My only criticism would be that a few of the captions are incorrect in relation to the aircraft dipicted. However, this did not detract from my enjoyment of this marvellous book.
