I bought this book for the sole purpose of finding information about the village where I live. Having now, read the whole book I can honestly say it's one of the best books of it's kind. Almost all of the villages and towns around Durham have been covered to some extent, providing the reader with little jems of information such as, local figures of interest or interesting facts and figures. I can't recommend the book to people looking for in-depth knowledge of the area but for those who are looking for a few pages on each village or town there is nothing to compare.
