Product Description

Synopsis

This is an appraisal of "where we are" and "what we do" with horses. Mary Wanless describes and analyses the fundamental attitudes and techniques in horse care, such as farriery, saddlery, dentistry and feeding. She considers the options in veterinary and complementary medicine, with detailed studies of homoeopathy, aromatherapy, herbalism and acupuncture. She also focuses on revolutionary saddle design, high-tech injury treaments, and the work of trainers such as Monty Roberts and Pat Parelli who speak to horses in the language of "Equus".

5.0 out of 5 stars One day it will be the universal way of thinking!, 9 Oct 2007

(REAL NAME)
Here it is, the book that tells the true story about our horses lives and how we take it for granted that they are such adaptable, kind and generous creatures, for if we did the same to lions they would surely eat us! For the good of the horse is exactly what it is (not necessarily what most people want to hear unfortunately). Everyone in the horse world would benefit from reading this book for the good of their horse. Thank you Mary for writing it, well done!
