237 case studies of individuals of the 19th century with extremely odd sexual fancies. I'm not sure how much of a useful reference to academics in the field of sexual 'perversion' this is, but it is a fascinating, entertaining and often hilarious read (or maybe I've just got a sick sense of humour). It's all the more amusing as it is writen in the language of the time.
A lot of the supposed paraphilias would be considered completely 'normal' today but in Victorian times were classed as mental disorders. Some of the more exotic sounding disorders include; frottism, satyriasis, cannibalism, erotic delirium and lustmurder.
Intriguing.
