1.0 out of 5 stars Everything but the kitchen sink!, 19 Sep 2003
By A Customer
Pennick's book is continually popular because it presents a twee view of Britian with paganism EVERYWHERE. Rather than being "Northern Tradition" - whatever that means, there's a whole load of Wicca, ceremonial magic, astrology, medieval alchemy, wild speculation on British folklore with bits and bobs of Celtic and Germanic mythology thrown in. Everything is treated as FACT, when much of it seems to have sprung fully-formed from Pennick's rather fertile imagination!
