4.0 out of 5 stars Journeys by Excursion Train from East Lancashire: Southport Via the West Lancashire Line and Morecambe Via Preston and Lancaster, 12 Jan 2009

(REAL NAME)
If you were interested in railways in the 50's and 60's in Lancashire, Stuart Taylor's books are a definite 'must have'. Packed with photo's and in depth information they take the reader through a journey by train, describing all those places along the route that have either disappeared physically, or just slipped from the memory. The books also link the part that railways played in the whole social and economic growth (and death) of the area without being dull or dry reading. The popularity of Stuart Taylor's books is reflected in the increasing difficulty in getting hold of them and the increasing price of used copies.
