5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant school-level presentation of the Periodic Table, 19 Feb 2000
By A Customer
I have been looking for ways to interest my grandchildren in the Periodic Table, and show them basic chemical experiments they are not yet getting at school. This is the best I have found. Beautifully presented, it is one in a series of 12 ChemLab Books, but at Australian $26.95 it would be a major investment to buy the whole series for one child, let alone a number of them. Pity they can't be slightly less lavish and expensive, as every school child could become more scientifically literate if books like this were widely available. I have not seen the others in the series. After showing the Periodic Table, each group of elements is described, with a theoretical description followed by up to three classical experimental demonstrations, clearly described and beautifuly illustrated. This covers 65 pages, while the next 15 pages consist of a "Master Glossary" and "Master Index" which cover all 12 books of the series - more than are required if only this book is acquired.
