An excellent little book - small enough to be kept in your pocket and but large enough to be useful. And it doesn't cost very much. Only the absence of an accompanying cassette or CD would improve it. Do not go to the Baltic States without it!

A fantastic little book. The phonetics section is invaluable when you have my level of foreign lagnuage skills, god knows what crimes I would have committed to the baltic languages without it. Well laid out and hardwearing, which is just as well as if you're anything like me you'll be refering to it everytime you need to communicate.

Having only gone to Estonia I can't fully comment on the other languages covered but I did find it extremely usefull. The phonetics are fantastic as it means you don't have to memorise the alphabet so much. Downsides: it would have been usefull to have a small dictionary of the most common words with it and it can sometimes appear a bit scattered (Nothing that bookmarks can't overcome though!)
