3.0 out of 5 stars The end of the world? .... maybe not, 10 Dec 2000
By A Customer
Last edited in 1997, I found the contents of the book slightly outdated when I went to Mongolia this summer - for example the train time schedules were not as accurate as I hoped it would be. Apart from that the book gives a good introduction to the history and culture of Mongolia, and it gives a good idea of what you should expect. One piece of advice though - if you're seriously considering travelling in Mongolia but don't speak Mongolian at all, the Mongolian Phrasebook is a must.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad., 11 Jan 2002
By A Customer
I used this prior to my third trip to Mongolia;
I'm heading again this summer and it is certainly
very much of use. There's scope for
more detail in some areas though. Travelling to
Mongolia isn't easy to plan as information isn't
as plentiful as elsewhere so this is a good start.
