About the Author
Damian Harvey studied at Sunderland University and lives in Lancashire. He is married with three children and in his spare time he visits schools to hear children read and tell them stories. Lynne Chapman has been an illustrator for 15 years. She previously worked in editorial before teaching an HND course in illustration at Sheffield. For Gullane Children's Books, Lynne has illustrated The Show at Rickety Barn, the 'Smudge' series, Big Bad Wolf is Good and When You're Not Looking.

This is a really lovely book to read aloud. My children get so excited as each new animal is introduced and they anticipate the wonderfully silly things they are going to do. Lynne Chapman's illustrations are such fun. All the animals really come to life and each has their own personality - her juggling cows in their little boleros are my personal favourite. The final illustration is truly knock-out with acrobatic sheep balanced on a unicycle, a horse reciting poetry, dancing chickens in tutus, an operatic cat... Great stuff!
