5.0 out of 5 stars A whole new world, 18 Nov 2005
By A Customer
I think this book is fantastic. Prior to buying it, my idea of salad was a handful of lettuce, some tomato and cucumber dumped in a colourful bowl and christened with a lashing of olive oil and lemon juice...I've been missing out on a whole world of delicious food with a spectacular 'Wow' factor!
I can't get enough of the tabbouleh which is packed to bursting with fresh herbs and makes you feel healthy, just looking at it.
One of the best things about this book is ,it is not intimidating. The recipes are clear and easy to follow and so far, I haven't encountered anything too fiddly.
It's just what we want in this day and age - healthy food that looks fab and is pretty easy to throw together!

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for all occaisions, 12 Jul 2004
By A Customer
My family have a penchant for eating right and eating well, and this book is a real find. The salads range from the traditional classics to new and innovative options. So far, every recipe that we have made is well tested and full of flavour. The book would have been worth purchasing just for its dressing recipes. Regardless of whether you eat salads as a starter or main course this book is a must have.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too many ingredients required, 4 Jun 2006
I'm very ruthless when it comes to assessing cookery books. I am always trying to find a balance between tasty recipes and ease of sourcing ingredients. This books looks like it has some lovely recipes in, but the ingredients lists are just too long for me. I'm not keen on buying ingredients to use only once - say mung bean noodles; there are plenty of recipes in this book where i'd be doing that. I like variety in my meals and am not going to be cooking from any one book on a frequent basis, therefore i'd just end up with stacks of half used ingredients in the cupboard. I also can't be bothered to go to all the shops i'd need to visit to get some of the ingredients required, e.g. Thai Sweet Basil leaves - never seen them in my nearest Waitrose or Tesco.

This book is for committed salad lover.
