5.0 out of 5 stars I made a delightful mistake!, 18 Feb 1999
By A Customer
Well, OK, this just proves what folks in the UK have always suspected: Americans can't read. It also proves that Americans have the most phenomenal luck (at times). I was looking for a copy of the PRESSED FAIRY BOOK. It's been reprinted in Canada, but it's not currently available in the U.S., and used book prices are astronomical. A friend pointed out the AMAZON.CO.UK site to me, and I thought I'd look for the Jones/Froud book here. AND I FOUND IT! Or so I thought. I noticed that the cover seemed more violet than tan, but I assumed that it was just a cosmetic difference between the UK and American editions. So I ordered it. Of course, what arrived a week later was Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy JOURNAL. Journal? My first thought was that the order must have gotton muddled. Of course, all along, I was muddled. I'd ordered the Journal. After pouting a bit, which didn't seem to have ANY effect on the Journal, I looked at it. It is wonderful. It has the charm, whimsy, darkly-wicked humor of the book; it also has the grace and beauty of a lovingly-crafted journal. If only ALL of our mistakes could turn out so delightfully.

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't hurt the Faeries!, 10 May 2000
By A Customer
As a long time lover of the Fae, I was particularly delighted when this book came my way. I actually found it at work, like it was just sitting there waiting for me to find it. What a wonderfully creative piece of art. At first I was upset with this wicked little girl who was actually killing the faeries that she was so lucky to encounter. But after reading the note saying that the faeries left only their psychic imprint on the pages and not there beautiful little bodies, I was very much relieved. A wonderful addition to any library.

Well what can I say about these books. . . . I have purchased the full range for my daughter and read everyone myself, they are amazing. Only wish there were more.
