Product Description
Synopsis
Endometriosis is a condition where the lining of the womb grows on organs outside of the uterus. It currently affects one in ten women around the world and is being diagnosed in more and more women in their early teens and 20s. It is predicted that by the year 2000, the numbers of women suffering will have risen to around 200 million. Symptoms vary but may include severe period pain, heavy bleeding or pain during intercourse. The pain can be totally debilitating, affecting a woman's ability to lead a normal, fulfilling life and one third of women with the condition have difficulty conceiving. This text offers women practical and safe alternatives to orthodox treatment. Key features of this text include: a description of what endometriosis is and how it affects sufferers; an account of orthodox treatments currently available; the alternative therapies and their effectiveness, including relaxation, aromatherapy and nutrition; and menu suggestions and recipes to help put the advice into practice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly recommended for endometriosis sufferers, 28 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This book is a must read for women with endometriosis. As well as the helpful nutritional information it contains a wealth of information about the condition itself and explains why enodmetriosis affects you the way it does and most importantly the relatively simple things you can do to help.

Dian Mills, one of the authors, is an endo sufferer and is one of the trustees of the SHE trust so she is well qualified to discuss the impact of endo.
