4.0 out of 5 stars Cogs and Deneholes, 10 Oct 2003
Caer Sidhe - Volume 2 is the third book in a series of by Michael Bayley. The first two: Kecks, Keddles, and Kesh: Celtic Language and the Cog Almanac and Caer Sidhe - Volume 1: The Celtic Night Sky were very interesting. Caer Sidhe - Volume 2 takes up where Volume 1 left off. It covers: Stars and Angels, Meteorites and the Annual Meteor Showers of the Cog Almanac, the Cog Almanac, the British, Hyperboreans and the Ancient Greeks, Evolution of Mathematics, Science and Astronomy among the Greeks, British and Pythagoreans, Meanings of Numbers, Druids, Deneholes and Astronomy, The Applewell and related Pagan Ballads.

Much of the material in the book is drawn directly from Kecks, Keddles.... or Caer Sidhe - Volume 1 but there is enough new information to make the book interesting. The chapters on Deneholes and Astronomy and the Ballad of the Applewell were particularly fascinating. Although I cannot agree with all Bayley says, and not qualified to comment on his theories in an informed manner, I do applaud his imagination and his courage in advancing his views. Nevertheless, I wish he would organize his narrative a bit better and make his thought processes easier to follow so that I could begin to understand his thesis more clearly.
