Excellent book, 2 Jul 2004
When I ordered this I didn't know what to expect. I went by the title only and wanting a good book on sculpture using textiles as a basis. I was not dissapointed by what arrived! I am a fine art student, specialising in any media! This book is marvellous! I would also say it would be suitable for a practising artist interested in this area. This is what the book says!: Textiles Perspectives in Mixed Media Sculpture celebrates the prodigous sculpture created by artists who operate on the interface of mixed media sculpture and textile art. It reveals the inspirations, influences and creative journeys of over thirty contemporary artists, and explains the practical processes and raw materials they use. * Introductory chapter contexualises texile prespectives in mixed media sculpture and discusses elements that concern the scupltor in the twenty-first century. * Illuminating text on the creative journeys of contemporary artists. * Informative technical information on creating sculpture from plastic, rubber, plaster, metal and paper. * Insightful profiles of over thirty contemporary professional artists specialising in mixed media sculpture. * Sumptously illustrated in full colour with over 140 photographs. I hope you have found this information useful for buying this item or not?
