4.0 out of 5 stars A good reference to popular lures and tackles, 22 Feb 2004
This handy book is identifying a great range of lures currenty popular, how and which fish reacts to them and how to use a tackle. You can even find practical information on how to create your own designs of lures in this up to date book.

4.0 out of 5 stars very good, 30 Aug 2009
By D. H. Cheyne - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
As with most specialised fishing books this is not for the beginning angler - it presupposes a certain amount of knowledge.I certainly don`t see this as a fault, and for the angler who wants to learn about lure fishing and lure making it is an excellent starting place. It should answer all the questions you have about how to fish lures from both boat and bank
The only thing I found a little irritating was Mr.Bettell`s tendency to self congratulation and blowing his own trumpet.
On the whole an excellent book.
