1.0 out of 5 stars Not in the style of Jane Austen & Hollywood ending, 1 Sep 2001
By A Customer
I was very disappointed with the very un-Jane Austen-like writing - besides the grating name change of Fitzwilliam to Robert. The constant use of the familiar first name was exceedingly jarring and the ending was absurdly feel-good and predictable with an incredibly fast wrap up of the many storylines.

1.0 out of 5 stars Totally misses the mark as a P & P Sequel, 1 Oct 2000
If you like romance novels, then perhaps you would enjoy this book, but as a sequel to P & P - it completely misses the mark. Throughout the entire story, I kept thinking - did the author really read Jane Austen's work? Just a few of the things that nagged me were: Lizzy calling Darcy 'Robert' (through the whole book), Jane cracking jokes about Mr. Collins, Jane's & Lizzy's wedding being a month apart, amicable evenings at the Hurst's, Georgiana & Caroline Bingley being great friends & Lizzy promoting a romance between Charlotte & a widower - though she and Mr. Collins are still married. To me, it just didn't add up, but as I said, if you just like romance novels, perhaps you would like it - I'm not a fan of them myself.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not exactly like the real thing..., 25 Sep 2000
By A Customer
When reading sequels one doesn't really expect such quality as in originals, but this one does have a potential to itself. There are moments when characters are real enough and story has some interesting twists that you'd not expect. So if you enjoy a nice romance, try it, but you won't find real Austen inside.

2.0 out of 5 stars Christmas brings a flirtation for Charlotte Collins
While there are other "sequels" preferable to this one, it's certainly fine for the Austen fan who simply cannot get enough of the delightful characters. Read more
