About the Author
William Fotheringham writes chiefly on cycle racing and rugby for the 'Guardian' and 'Observer'. A former racing cyclist, he has edited specialist cycling magazines and written three books on the sport, including a highly successful biography of Tom Simpson, the British cyclist who died during the Tour de France in the 1960s. Called 'Put Me Back On My Bike' (Yellow Jersey), it has been hailed as 'the best cycling biography ever written'. He was also the editor/compiler of 'Fotheringham's Sporting Trivia' (Sanctuary). He lives near Leominster and is currently working on a biography of the legendary Italian cyclist, Fausto Coppi.
