5.0 out of 5 stars A "Must Read" for managers/motivators., 30 Mar 2002
From the very first paragraph it is clear that Bill Shankly was a passionate motivator and well loved visionary who became a legend in his own time by masterminding the transformation of Liverpool Football club from mediocrity to an acclaimed worldwide "brand" and Institution.

From humble scottish mining origins, Bill Shankly was first and foremost a people person , his success came from his unique ability to get the best from his people by getting them to "See" the best in themselves.

Described by the author, jounalist and broadcaster John Kieth as a great leader. Skanks knew instinctively that the path to peak performance was through positive relationships with key players and members of his management staff.

Former protegee "Kevin Keegan" describes Shanks as a potentially great polititian, a Sir Winston Churchill figure, and outrageous extrovert.

Shankly had a unique ability to transfer his heart felt passion to his players which in turn enabled them to transform his boyhood dream into reality.

This book looks behind the Shankly legend to produce a definitive picture of a remarkable man with a unique passion, ability and vision.

Contributions from living legends such as; Sir Tom Finney, Bob Paisley, Jock Stien, Emlyn Hughes, Steve Heighway, Brian Hall,Tommy Smith, Ian St John, John Toshak, Ronnie Yeats, Phil Thomson and other soccer lumineries make this book absolutley essential reading.
